Graduation Requirement Check

WHEN TO FILE:

Undergraduate Students

Students must request a graduation requirement check through the Office of Records, Registration and Evaluations (UH 171) prior to the end of the term of their expected graduation.  To avoid late fees, the grad check should be filed by the established deadlines listed below.  Students should not request the grad check until they have accumulated 135 quarter units toward their degree.  This may include work in progress.

Graduate Students

Candidates for degrees to be awarded must request a graduation requirement check through the Office of Records, Registration and Evaluations (UH 171) at least one quarter prior to the end of the term of their expected graduation.  To avoid late fees, the grad check should be filed by the established deadlines listed below.  While the grad check may be filed early to avoid late fees, Advancement to Candidacy is needed before the grad check can be completed.

GRAD CHECK FEES:

First File

The fee for filing a first time grad check is $25 for each major/option requested.  Grad checks filed after the deadline are charged an additional $15 late fee for each major/option.

Re-file

Students who do not complete the requirements in the term for which the graduation check was filed, must re-file and pay a $20 fee for a second grad check for each major/option requested.  If the re-filed grad check is filed after the deadline, an additional $15 late fee will be charged for each major/option requested.  Access to subsequent registration will not be allowed until the grad check has been re-filed.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Every effort is made to have grad checks filed by the deadlines to the students by priority registration of the expected graduation quarter.  Grad checks filed after the deadlines are processed in date order received.  The name listed on your graduation check is the name that will appear on your diploma, and the address is the address to which the diploma will be mailed.  Make sure all areas of your graduation check are carefully reviewed.  If you notice any discrepancies, immediately bring the completed grad check with you to the Office of Records, Registration & Evaluation (UH 171).   Once you have registered for your last quarter, view your PAWS.  If you are registered in all requirements for your bachelor’s degree, the statement, “All requirements completed – In-Progress courses used” should appear.  If this does NOT appear, you are missing a requirement and will not graduate!   If you need help, please visit a Records Evaluator.
